I remember working as a Union Electrician, risking my life everyday working with High Voltage Electricity. We loved when break time would finally come around. Working 10-12 hour days, breaks were the high lights of the day.

I had a friend who was really a smart and dedicated electrician, we even went through the apprentice program together… the only thing is he smoked alot of cigarettes. He admitted once that he had a 3 pack a day habit for the last five years of his life. I could tell he really had a cigarette addiction and he really seemed as if he couldn’t stop.

First break was only 15 minutes but we usually took 20. We would always go get coffee then outside to the break area. My friend was a smoker, so we were always in the smoking section. This is were I saw smoking at its’ best. Everybody had their own style of smoking at break time. Some smoked and talked on their cell phones, some smoked in conversation with others and some smoked as many cigarettes as they could during break. It was as if they could never get enough Nicotine from one extra long cigarette, they needed 4. These were the people who smelled like ash trays everytime you came in contact with them. Most had a cough that they seemed to discard or ignore. Yellow teeth and yellow nails was normal. If you are a smoker you should really try  to quit, you don’t want to be the one that others are talking about. Stop killing yourself… PUT THE BOX DOWN.
